The Los Angeles Rams have released quarterback Nick Foles just a day before he was due to report to their training camp. The Rams had been looking for a trade partner for Foles, whom they acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles last year as part of the Sam Bradford trade.Foles had become surplus to requirements for the franchise which relocated from St Louis at the end of last season after they used their first pick in the draft to pick highly-rated California quarterback Jared Goff. The 27-year-old earned a place in the Pro Bowl at the end of the 2013 season when he threw 27 touchdowns against only two interceptions for the Eagles. But he struggled in 11 starts for the Rams last season, completing a career low 56.4 per cent of his passes and only throwing seven touchdowns. We have been in contact with Nick and his representation throughout the off-season and we feel that this is the best decision for all parties involved, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said.We appreciate the contributions that Nick has made to our organisation in his time as a Ram and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
